Improving disability rights access and inclusion in our local communities
The Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) R.A.I.S.E Your Voice project, in partnership with RIAC and Grampians Disability Advocacy (GDA), offers free group services across Victoria to enhance self-advocacy skills, support community projects, and improve disability rights, access, and inclusion for people with a disability.
These initiatives aim to build confidence and create change through community engagement and empowerment.
Key features:
- Free Group Services: The program offers free group services across Victoria, making it accessible to everyone.
- Skill Development: Participants will receive training in self-advocacy, peer advocacy, and systemic advocacy, helping them build confidence and skills.
- Community Projects: The program focuses on creating change through community projects aimed at improving disability rights, access, and inclusion.
- Support and Mentoring: Participants will receive support and mentoring to help them identify and address local issues that are important to them.
- Inclusive Environment: The program is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, as well as women with disabilities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Local Focus: The program will form and support local groups in various regions, including Barwon-West, Bendigo, Creswick-Daylesford-Ballan, Grampians, Mildura, Shepparton, and Surf Coast – Bellarine Peninsula.
