Connecting with the community at Services and Futures expo

by | 25 Aug, 2023 | News, RIAC

RIAC was thrilled to attend the bustling ‘Services and Futures Expo’ at Barwon Valley School. This highly anticipated event, open to parents, carers, and students, provided an excellent platform for us to spread awareness about our crucial services within the Geelong community.

At the expo, RIAC had the opportunity to connect with individuals and families, sharing valuable information about our advocacy services specifically designed for people with disabilities. We were delighted to engage with attendees and answer their questions, helping them better understand the support available to them.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was hearing the reflections shared by students. Their experiences working in the community after graduating from school showcased their resilience and determination. Their stories served as a reminder of the importance of providing ongoing support and empowering opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The expo also featured numerous service providers who exhibited their day programs and employment opportunities for post-school graduates. This comprehensive display highlighted the wide range of possibilities for individuals looking to further their education and career prospects.

RIAC is committed to serving the Geelong community and advocating for individuals with disabilities. By attending events like the ‘Services and Futures Expo,’ we can continue to raise awareness, provide essential resources, and empower individuals to reach their full potential.

Join us as we work together to build a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
