Self Advocacy Groups

Self-Advocacy Groups were formed to empower people with disabilities and their families and carers. The groups are run by people with disabilities to assist individuals to understand their rights and responsibilities. Self-Advocacy Group supports individuals to have the confidence to make choices about their lives and to have the same opportunities as other members of the community.

RIAC currently employs two Self Advocacy Peer Advisors to provide support and information to the members of these groups including the Shout Out Shepparton and Speak Up Alexandra Self Advocacy Groups.  If you would like information about joining the group, please call our Peer Advisors Mandy or Athena on 5822 1944.
