I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE MYSELF AS THE NEW CEO OF RIGHTS INFORMATION & ADVOCACY CENTRE (RIAC)
I am thrilled to be here, and I’m excited about many of the things we’ll be working on in the near future.
Over the past five years I have been working in the VET sector as Client Service Manager and more recently in the role as Registrar. In 2012 I joined RIAC’s board and was Chairperson from 2015 till 2018. When making my decision to join RIAC, four areas stood out most:
1) “It” really is all about the clients. Building the capacity and wellbeing of individuals, families, carers and communities through advocacy and support services.
2) The staff here at RIAC are passionate who live and breathe the organisations values.
3) The “whatever it takes” attitude the team uses to assist clients like you;
4) A committed Board who steer the organisation towards its mission, set the strategic vision and lobby on behalf of RIAC
We have a great team here at RIAC and I am excited to build upon that team as we continue to grow.
Our plan is to grow the team with a focus on being ‘user led’, give people the resources they need and continue to deliver the highest quality service to you. And we will continue to influence and secure positive long-term changes in society for people with disabilities.
