Annual Staff Meeting:

We are just letting everyone know that we will be at our annual staff meet-up this week coming- Mon to Wed 14th-16th Oct 2019.
Our annual staff meetings give us an opportunity for our remote offices to join us and are very important to keep us connected to continue the work that we do in our communities.
We come together as an organisation for professional development, wellness, further sharing and education.
On Thursday and Friday 17th and 18th Oct, we will be relocating two of our offices, and we may experience some time ‘off-line’ in both Bendigo and Shepparton.

During this period, you can still call our intake officer and leave a message on 03 52225499 and they will return your call when we are back in the office.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

Have a lovely week.

Regards,

RIAC staff

As per our previous post, we would like to share RIAC’s contribution to World Mental Health Day:

1. The implementation of a well-being policy for all staff to ensure that we are encouraging our staff to care for their mental health throughout the work that they do. We acknowledge and model the importance of a positive, safe, supportive workplace culture.

2. Training of all staff in trauma informed practice to ensure we are educated, and aware of potential re-traumatisation of the community members which we support. We also provide opportunities for other advocacy organisations to join our training where available. With the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and exploitation, there is no time like now to ensure we are well versed in trauma informed care.

3. Training of all staff in vicarious trauma as part of our commitment to our well-being policy, to ensure that our staff are able to manage their own mental health when sharing experiences.
